Growing up as the son of a preacher, J?ven knows what it means to be affected by another's ability to communicate. He has been featured with well-known personalities like Vickie Winans, Kirk Franklin, Jerry Lewis, Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Diane Canon, Reba McIntire, Bill Gaither, Zig Zigler, and others. Now based in LA, J?ven currently balances a busy touring schedule as a solo artist, actor and guest speaker appearing in the largest arenas and concert halls in cities like New York, Las Vegas, Miami, Chicago, and more.
In 2001 Javen founded a youth outreach program called FYI an acronym for Focus on Young Individuals. FYI impacts thousands of young people in the Tampa-bay area through life changing counseling, tutoring, open mic forums, street meetings, and events supporting charities of all kind.
No stranger to television audiences J?ven is a frequent guest soloist on many networks and was one of the co-hosts of The Paula White Show on BET during the 2001-2002 season. Some of his network appearances include BET, TBN, FOX, CTN, DAYSTAR, and more.
In 2002 J?ven signed a record deal with Crowne/Word Records in Nashville, TN. His first single, Never Give Up on Love soared into the top 10 Christian charts. Prior to releasing his self-titled debut he recorded two powerful worship projects that received favorable responses from many high profile ministries that frequently include his songs in their churches & conferences. In 2003 he released his first independent worship CD Change on his production label JCM. Change was widely received on Gospel radio around the country and through the distribution of Central South and New Day is currently still climbing the charts with thousands of units being sold! In 2004 Javen was nominated for best Male Contemporary Solo Artist of the year at the Southern California GUILD AWARDS. He was also nominated Male?Artist of the year, song of the year, gospel performance of the year at the Caribbean's prestigious MARLIN AWARDS of which he won 2 of the 4 nominations.
Now based in LA, J?ven currently balances his touring schedule as a recording-artist, guest speaker, and actor. From 2002 to 2003 he stared in a reoccurring role as the Rabbi in the popular Off-Broadway musical The Rock and the Rabbi. He also stars with Omar Sharif and Peter Otool in the featured film "One Night With the King."
