Lonelady

LoneLady is a pseudonym of Manchester, UK musician Julie Campbell, who plays guitar, keyboards and cello, as well as singing. In 2009, she signed to Warp and a d?but album followed, "Nerve Up" (22 Feb 2010, Warp). From this, two singles were released: "Immaterial" (9 Nov 2009, Warp) and "Intuition" (Dec 2009, Warp). Her d?but recording was the 4-track single "Hi Ho Bastard/Fear No More" (Jun 2005, Filthy Home Recordings), followed by the EP "Have No Past" (Oct 2005, Filthy Home).

LoneLady's influences include: Christa Päffgen (aka Nico), Colin Newman, Joy Division, A Certain Ratio, Public Image Ltd. and Gang of Four.

Other pre-2009 7" releases include: "Army / Intuition" (2006 , Filthy Home - received BBC airplay on Radio 1, Radio 6 and XFM) and " Early The Haste Comes / Joy" (Oct 2007, Too Pure - her first studio recording, inaugurating the label's 'singles club').
