3) The Academy is a DCI Division II junior drum corps based in Tempe, Arizona that operates under the umbrella of the Arizona Academy for the Performing Arts.The Academy was originally formed in 2000 as the Arizona Academy Summer Brass and Percussion ensemble. The corps became competitive in 2004, changing their name to The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps. The Corps' first national tour occurred in 2006. 5) The Academy is an American band formed in Bloomington around 1995. They released a self-titled album in 2000 on Flat Earth. They were originally called Smart Milk, and members have gone on to be involved in other projects, perhaps most notably, Margot & the Nuclear So and So's.
