Born to a Filipino mother and a British father in the city of Hong Kong, Andy spent the first half of his life constantly on the move between the worlds of west and east living in various places in both Asia and Europe before settling in the UK.
Music was one of the strongest continuities in his life at this time hence Andy fell into a musical world listening to the likes of Jimmy Scott, Shuggie Otis, Kurt Elling, Roy Ayers, Marvin Gaye, Joni Mitchell, the Electric light orchestra & Sly and the family stone, along with the the theatrical, exciting music of The Beatles & Queen (from whom much of Mama's Gun's intricate and original backing vocal melodies are inspired).
This love and eventual talent that transpired led him to gain a much desired scholarship for songwriting at the notorious Liverpool Institute of performing arts run by Sir Paul McCartney. Andy also spent his time at music college honing his extreme skills as a varied and brilliant musician of many instruments in particular guitar and keys and of course as an outstanding vocalist.
Andy has penned tracks with artists signed to Mercury & SonyBMG, as well as writing all the material for the band itself.
With his band, he has performed at venues such as The Forum, The Jazz Caf? & The Royal Festival Hall and is currently performing at festivals around Europe. As a result, their reputation is emerging as one of the countries hottest live acts.
Andy has also recently indulged in the world of co-writing with some of his musical peers including Toby Smith (Jamiroquai), Mark Hill (Artful Dodger) & Jon Oates (Hall & Oates).
Having recently received a demo, Radio one stating them as "definitely one to watch next year".
