The Spill formed in the summer of 2004. Reflecting and learning from the experiences gleaned from the past few years, The Spill brought diverse backgrounds and influences together in one melting pot of music. Thanks to the catchy melodies and powerful rock sound, the band garnered a good following in the Cincinnati area and started to branch out. After several months of work, the band headed into the studio on Thanksgiving weekend, 2004.
In July of 2005, The Spill officially released their debut album, Canvas. Propelled by such songs as ?Praise You' and the title track ?Canvas', the album took off. The first single, ?Forever My Love Remains', held the #1 spot on midwestbands.com radio for two consecutive weeks and has been in constant rotation on 93.3 WAKW's ?Breakout? program for new artists. It also recently slipped into the Top 15 songs on Indieheaven.com in the rock genre.
The Spill's sound is catching on quickly in many music circles. In its relatively young existence, The Spill has grown from playing small backyard events to sharing the stage with regional acts Yours for Mine and 7th Time Down and opening for national recording artists The Afters, The Swift and Manic Drive. The album also garnered the band 3 Momentum Awards nominations at the C.I.A. (Christian Independent Artists) Summit for Album of the Year, Rock Artist of the Year and Male Vocalist of the year.
2006 will see the band at many festivals across the US and Canada. The Spill will be performing on The Extreme Tour 2006.
