Mar?a Villal?n (born in Ronda, M?laga, Spain on 1 April 1989), is a Spanish singer and most notably the winner of the first series of Spanish version of The X Factor in 2007. Maria grew singing from an early age. She studied at the music conservatory learning playing the cello when she was 10. In 2006 she took part in Bienvenidos on Canal Sur and in selection rounds of Operaci?n Triunfo where she reached the top 90 of the Spanish singing competition before being dropped.

Maria rose to fame in 2007 when she applied to take part in the musical reality show Factor-X Spanish version of The X Factor broadcast on Cuatro television channel. Only 17, she went on to win the contest singing "Can?ao do mar" from Dulce Pontes and "Mar?a se bebe las calles" from Pasi?n Vega.
Her album after her win was "Te espero aqu?" by Sony BMG, although she had two pre-X Factor albums through a small Andalusian record label. The album was released on 13 November 2007. First and only single from the album was "Ag?ita de abril".
Her second album Los tejados donde fuimos m?s que amigos gave her another Top 40 single entitled La lluvia.
