L.P. (born Laura Pergolizzi) is a pop/rock artist who invites comparisons to Janis Joplin, Joan Jett, Gwen Stefani, and Chrissie Hynde. In the late 1990s, L.P. had moved to new york and became the front-person for the band Lionfish and has been featured as a guest vocalist on Cracker's 1999 album Gentleman's Blues. L.P. recorded her first solo album in 2001. Titled Heart-Shaped Scar and released on Koch Records, L.P toured for four years and claims that she "got hooked on the road".
