2) Confront is the Boston Hardcore/Punk band. Who have been together since 1998.Bringing the attitude and experience of a youth spent on the streets of Boston, Confront was born around 1999 with the desire to play hard honest music without catering to the image and style so often confused for true rock and roll. Unlike the cookie cutter, trend conscience bands that tend to dominate MTV and mainstream radio, Confront crosses and breaks through the boundries of punk, hardcore, and hardrock to create a sound that is their own.
Confront has since released multiple early demos, 4 Retail Cd's, they have appeared on numerous compilations, are included in two DVD soundtracks, have played 100's of shows and are currently part of the Lude Boy Records roster. From doing their own all ages shows at D.I.Y venues, to sharing the stage with such notable acts as, Dropkick murphys, street dogs, subhumans, anti heros, ducky boys, blood for blood, avoid one thing, toxic narcotic, GBH, circle jerks, misfits, etc. Confront has developed their own loyal underground following and continue to work on making fresh music, with little or no help from the outside. In early 2007 the band was faced with multiple setbacks and a decision was made to take a break and reform. A three piece since 99' Confront is now a 4 piece with a new lineup. Founding members Steve Young and Matt scanlon remain, with the addition of Ennio avallone(7th rail crew, haloburn) and chuck casella(tester) on drums. Some of the faces are new now,but the motive is the same, if you've been around for us,you know what its all about, if you're new to this, you'll figure it out soon enough.
As of late Confront just released the follow up to the well received 3rd release, "Life, Death and Everything Between" (2006). The New Cd/EP "What have we become" is out now on Lude Boy Records. Confront is planning to tour again in 2009 so keep your eyes and ears open, In the meantime check out the new video for Fall From Grace.
3) And yet another Confront was the old school hardcore band from Cleveland, OH - perhaps best known for vocalist "Mean" Steve Murad's later participation in One Life Crew. They were an anomaly - a midwest straightedge band that played fast hardcore that was more Buzzcocks than Minor Threat. And when they played out, a huge fist-skanking circle pit would always burst out on the floor. Ripping through songs such as ?Join The Circus? and the soon-to-be-self-parodying ?Macho Man,? Confront's sets were sloppy, brutal, and fun. It was not until that Project X show at Irv's Pizzeria on Coventry when the NYHC Straightedge scene came thundering through our cow-tipping punk pastures. After witnessing the hard dance buffness of the Youth Crew, Confront become self-conscious about their sound and place in the larger "Straight-Edge Scene." Their whole set list was rewritten to include more of those turnip-picking-elbow-throwing breakdowns indicative of a ?dancing hard" pit. The songs got better and worse at the same time. Confront became a real force to be reckoned with and yet, never fully got the recognition they so richly deserved. http://www.lovebunnipress.com/histories/histories.html
4) Hardcore band from Japan
