Michael (Mike) Wayne Campbell (born February 1st, 1950 in Panama City, FL in the U.S.) is a guitarist and record producer, best known for his work with Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. He has co-written an array of songs, including "The Boys of Summer" with Don Henley. Campbell graduated from Ribault High School in Jacksonville, Florida in 1968 and quickly moved to pursue a career in music. At 16, he bought his first guitar, a cheap Harmony model, from a pawnshop. His first electric guitar was a $60 Goya.
