Lys Guillorn

Lys Guillorn is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Connecticut, USA who has been performing since 1998. Guillorn's main instrument is the guitar but she also plays banjo, mandolin, and organ. Her first CD, Lys Guillorn, was released in 2003 on Little Cowgirl Records, and was produced by Jeff Feuerzeig (known for directing the documentaries The Devil and Daniel Johnston and The Band That Would Be King).

The disc featured ten Guillorn-penned originals and cover of Johnny Thunders' "You Can't Put Your Arm Around a Memory". Guests included Dean Wareham (Dean and Britta, Luna, Galaxie 500), Robert Quine (sideman for Lou Reed, Tom Waits, Voidoids, Matthew Sweet), and three former members of the Feelies--Stanley Demeski (drums), Brenda Sauter (bass), and Glenn Mercer (a ripping guitar solo on the track "Impossible").

In 2006, Guillorn released Three Songs, an EP, also on Little Cowgirl. The EP was home-recorded and features three wistful songs and intricate arrangements. The cover was hand-letterrpress-printed in a signed limited edition.

in 2009 Little Cowgirl released Guillorn's Wayward Children: Comp Tracks, One Offs and Other Frighteningly Loose Teeth, an oddities collection of tracks previously recorded for micro-label and zine-based comps, demos, covers, and fragments.

Lys Guillorn plays either solo or with a band, which currently consists of brother Michael Guillorn on bass, and Peter Riccio (with whom she played in Jargon Society, now of the Sawtelles) on drums.
