Nashville-based folk artist Marie McGilvray offers a magical musical journey threaded together with acoustic guitar and poetic lyrics about the various aspects of Love.
Bio / Background
Big Love is the debut indie release by Nashville-based alternative folk artist Marie McGilvray. The record encompasses the universal themes of waiting for love, losing love, finding love and being Love - a Love greater than ourselves.
Each song is its own musical vignette tied together with acoustic guitar and poetic lyrics. Marie’s beautiful and unique melodies are delivered by a soulful vibrato voice. The record was produced by Ron Gomez and features guitarist Mick Taras (formerly of the Motels) and cellist Matt Slocum (formerly with Sixpence None The Richer).
Marie's sound is a blend of different musical styles. Imagine Sarah McLachlan listening to a Kate Bush CD on her way to Tracy Chapman's for lunch.
Embark on a moving, spiritual journey that will make you want to dance, cry and reach out and touch someone you love all in one sitting.
