Bio / Background
There's been a fire brewing in Frederick, MD USA. A new generation of folk rock music with a social and spiritual twist that is not only positive, but is truly music for the soul; funky, sincere, sweet and rocking AND accessible to a large audience. After almost seven years of making music, Camela Widad Kraemer is releasing this third CD with her new band, The Hearts of Fire.
From Austin to LA to Northern California and now on the East Coast, Camel Widad Kraemer took all the conversations with folks along the way who were upset with the social, political and spiritual scene in their lives and created a new type of folk music. From these many coffeehouse conversations began the impetus to create a new kind of folk rock music that didn't bash or complain, but brought the focus back to the individual to create their own reality they wished to experience. You can hear this in the song 'Some Light'; "I've got something to say, I'm tired of living this way.
↓ more ↓It's a dark world we're living in, it's about time we give ourselves some light".
Her attempt to bring folks out of the din of everyday life has been very successful in the local coffeehouse scene in Maryland. Michelle West of Germantown, MD, an I.T. professional, says; "I just wanted to say that I love this music & could listen to her play all night. It touches my soul and sets me free."
Many fans describe this music to be inspiring, healing, energizing and calming because of the positive lyrics, folk rock sound, steady rhythms, and Widad's vocalization bringing each listener to a deeper place inside. A great choice for relaxing at home or energizing in the car, or passing along to your favorite lover of music!
