Growing up in a small town in Wisconsin, she spent late nights sneaking downstairs to listen to her Dad's collection of the Everley Brothers, which became an influence in her music. Rhythm and harmonies, but now mixed with a social and mystical twist.
Widad has performed at various venues across the US including The Unity Music Festival in PA, Flower-Mart Festival in Baltimore, the Berkshire Mountain Music Festival in MA, the Purple Fiddle in WV, The Takoma Park Folk Festival in Washington DC. As well as performing live on the Austin Music Network and KUT 90.5 Live with John Ailey in Austin, TX, Widad also produces the Unity Music Festival at the Farm of Peace in PA.
