Diegrinder is a four-piece heavy metal, hard rock band out of Detroit, MI. Formed in 1997, Adam Till (guitar/vocals), Henry Pardike (bass), John Lehl (drums) and Mike Elgert (guitar) draw major influence from Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Motorhead, Misfits, Helmet and KISS and kick out "meaty fucking rock songs that don't involve a DJ or 5 strings on a bass or rapping." Their debut album, 'The Past to Rest', recieved many favorable reviews, following the mantra of Gibson's, Marshall's, and feedback.
In November 2003, the band suffered the sudden death of guitarist Steve Kapo at the age of 30. After sparatic shows as a three piece over the next year, then band hired on Mike Elgert in September 2004. They went into the studio and in November 2004 released 'Detroit On Fire!', a "call to arms against a city obsessed with nu-metal, rap, techno, and garage 'rock'."
