David Shaw

Born in 1973, David was brought up on Leo Sayer and ABBA (he blames that on his parents), but soon he progressed to music of his own choice Depeche Mode, Malcolm McLaren & Kraftwerk, In his teens he went through a mad skate metal period of Pantera, Sepultura & Suicidal Tendencies (that is a band if you didn't know). David has also been influenced by Bodycount, Ice T, Neds Atomic Dustbin, Nine Inch Nails & Pop Will It Eat It's Self. His clubbing days started out with dj's like Healey, Humphries, and Whitehead and progressed to Tenaglia, BT, Digweed & Seaman to name but a few.

With all the genre's of music in place he choose music as his career.

Darkdrum started in 2001 when David was DJing in places such as Turnmills in London and the Sanctuary in B'Ham and several Stately Homes Party Nights (u know the ones).
He decided to hang up the DJ Needles (for now) and concentrate on the production side of things.

For the next couple of years he built up "Darkdrum Studio's" and taught himself on sequencer packages such as Cubase / Logic / Reason / Alberton.
Combine that with his knowledge of VST's, outboards such as Access Virus, JV1080, Bassstation and Proteus 2000. He has soon put together his own catalogue of proggy/tech house sounds.

He produces and remix's all Styles of Music but mainly he produces a Tech & Progressive House Sound and little bit of Tranceyness on the side, and in 2005 he started sending his work out to the labels, with great response.

David has remixed some of the latest up and coming future artists such as Milissa, Team Skeme,Colin McNeil, The Lazy Boyz and Indus.

In 2005 he joined forces on a sideline project with Miss Moneypenny's DJ "Attison" to form "Far Fetched Thoughts". They have currently released "Feel It In Your Soul", with new tracks "Afro Disko" & "Mr Madu" soon to follow.

Late 2006 saw David hook up with Steve O'Neill to form "Touch Dirty" another sideline project. Unleashing his electro side!!. They have currently released "Champagne Girl", Turn Dat Sh*t Up", Take a Ride" and "Did u Cum 2 Dance"

2007 welcome's David's debut solo release "Arabian Nights" supported by Tiesto, Markus Schulz, Andy Moor, Matt Darey, Gareth Emery, Blank & Jones, Flash Brothers, Mark Pledger and many more, to be released by Armada Music / Coldharbour in the September.
