Undeniably at the center of his sound, Los Angeles based singer/songwriter Dave Carducci's passionate baritone and seamless falsetto define who he is as an artist. Trained as a vocalist, the Michigan native's songs are filled with strong leads and rich harmonies. His wide range of influences has allowed him to create a sound and style of his own by transcending similar genres while keeping a distinct familiarity between his songs.
In May 2007 nine of these songs were self-released on his debut CD, Trouble and Debris. Recorded sporadically throughout '05 and '06, the introspective acoustic based disc relies heavily on melody while exploring the themes of personal loss and self discovery. Engineered and mixed by producer Brian Brodie near Columbus, OH and mastered in Los Angeles by Orlando Rashid (Jamie Foxx, T.I., Kanye West) Trouble and Debris marks the beginning of Carducci's life as a solo artist.
Now armed with a batch of new songs, Carducci is heading into the studio to record with another rising talent, Los Angeles engineer/producer Nels Jensen. "Nels has a lot of interesting ideas and he's able to challenge me musically in ways that I haven't been before," says Carducci. "It should be a lot of fun and prove to yield some great material." In fact, some of that material has already begun popping up on set lists and a few have quickly become mainstays at live shows.
Carducci is looking to break onto the scene by playing solo acoustic shows to create maximum awareness and exposure while organically growing his following. His raw musical talent, impressive vocals and songwriting ability make him an intriguing up-and-coming artist.
