Daphna Sadeh was born in Israel and she is currently living in the UK. She is a Double Bass player and a composer, leading her group, The Voyagers. Woven through Daphna Sadeh's composition is a rich tapestry of Eastern European Music, laced with Middle Eastern traditions and Ethnic thread. These original compositions and arrangements weave a vibrant live picture known uniquely as the sound of The Voyagers It is a deep cultural awareness of her roots that informs Daphna Sadeh's music. She was born into a multicultural society in Israel, where she was exposed to cultures from the Diaspora.
She has received her Classical and Jazz music education in New York. Daphna Sadeh was commissioned to compose music and record a new CD with the Voyagers for Tzadik label from New York. In addition to that Daphna has received a grant from the Arts Council UK to support the project. The new CD ? Reconciliation will be released on February 2009. The members of the Voyagers are well established touring and session musicians. The group has performed in various festivals and venues in the UK as well as in Europe. Daphna performed internationally and recorded with various World Music groups such as East West Ensemble and Eve's Women. She performed in the USA, Asia, Europe and South Africa in different festivals and venues. Her first CD - Out of Border was released in 2002. Her second CD -Walking The Thin Line was released by 33 Records label UK, in 2007.
