Coyote Poets of the Universe

Coyote Poets of the Universe manifested on a hillside in Littleton,Colorado in the year 2000. The band, as yet unnamed, was composing and writing poetry in their lair at the bottom of a hillside that stands over an abandoned mine. The hillside spotted with coyotes howling under a bright star in the night sky which turned out to be Mars in it's closest proximity to Earth in sixty thousand years!

This occurance was not lost on the musicians and poets inside tiny Square Shaped Studios and the band grew a name and a philosophy stemming from Native American stories of Coyote the Trickster the observable behaviour of the very resilient western coyote and the cosmic events in the Colorado night.
Fiercly dedicated to creating original music from the myriad of influences in the musical souls that seemed to come and go as quickly as a coyote disappears in the wild the band released three CDs in quick order recieving critical acclaim as well as world wide airplay before reforming to a much steadier lineup of musicians which continued to make their fourth CD and their current and fifth release "Pandora's Box"...
The band has resisted playing one style of music in favor of what the song calls for.As a result it's been hard to pin them down to one style or another so that labels like rock, jazz or folk don't completely apply and yet you can hear bits of every music the ten of these amazing musicians ever took to heart. A practice that hasn't made it easy to market them in a specific demographic but has yielded their best recording to date.
