colorStar was formed in 1996, and was named after the first colour TV set manufactured in Hungary, the name bearing several meanings: referring to the band's ?colourful? music, and to the ?inner movie? people see while listening to the free flowing music, especially the tracks on the early releases. colorStar was one of the first bands to amalgamate the various directions of electronic party music with psychedelic, guitar-based pop-rock. At their shows, the band often experiments with visuals to strengthen their music, and to intensify the experience for the audience.

The band, going through some changes in its lineup since the beginning, has become one of the significant formations of Hungarian pop music, and has gained international recognition. While playing at all the important festivals and clubs in Hungary, the band has crossed the border numerous times touring Western Europe, the Benelux states, the Balkan states, and as part of the F?te de la Musique (World Music Day), they played in Istanbul as well.
Later this year, colorStar was invited to the Palace of Arts in Budapest, for which they put together a set consisting mainly of the longer tracks of their early CDs, and were accompanied by spectacular visuals presented by the Urbaniser Visual team.
Since 1996, colorStar came out with numerous releases, of which the fifth album, Flow (2012), ended a phase in the history of the band, as Zolt?n Farkas (drums) and M?rton Szinovszki (sampler, keyboards) left during the recording sessions.
After the changes, colorStar, with the leadership of founders Andr?s Keleti and P?ter Szalay, face the future with new members and a fresh music concept.
