Cintecele Diavolului (meaning "Songs of the Devil") was a side project of Mortiis. The name is Romanian (the correct form is actually "c?ntecele diavolului") and was chosen for its meaning and how it sounded. Mortiis got the name from his girlfriend at the time the project was formed. The project's only album, The Devil's Songs, was composed using synthesizers, much like Mortiis' earlier Era 1 work. Cintecele Diavolui was disbanded to make time for Mortiis' main project of the same name.

Cintecele Diavolui is a bizzare mix of old-fashioned horror music and creepy vampire songs.
