Chelsea Emata only used her full name on her demos; her album was released under the name Chelsea E. Chelsea, a native-born Filipino with Spanish and Chinese roots, was raised in sunny California, and has lived in Los Angeles since the age of five. She graduated from the L.A. County High School for the Arts where she studied music theory, dance and theater. Chelsea, a native-born Filipino with Spanish and Chinese roots, was raised in sunny California, and has lived in Los Angeles since the age of five. She
graduated from the L.A. County High School for the Arts where she studied music theory, dance and theater.
Besides performing at just about every venue in and around L.A, Chelsea has written and co-written nearly 40 songs, and has recorded almost 100
songs throughout her young career. Having spent close to a thousand hours in the studio working on tracks, recording and collaborating with many well-
known producers, Chelsea has become a seasoned pro.
However, it wasn't until after she joined an all-female pop group called SX4, did she really develop her songwriting, harmonizing and performance skills.
Also, with the group, she had a 3 song record release with BMG on the Kool & the Gang compilation album "Gangland."
Now, as a single artist, Chelsea recorded her solo debut album. According to Music Connection Magazine (Demo Critiques), Chelsea's music is described
as... "Impressive in so many ways. Extremely hooky, catchy material performed with professional precision, and the right amount of sass."
Chelsea's new 14 song CD "Greenlight Girl" would be best categorized as Urban Pop. Fans who appreciate the styles of Gwen Stefani, Madonna,
Kylie Minogue, Kelly Clarkson, Pussycat Dolls and Pink, would more than likely enjoy Chelsea's music.
