Five lads from Melbourne write a bunch of songs and record them in their kitchen. They mail their six-song demo to Triple J in early 2005 and within no time Robbie Buck and Richard Kingsmill are singing their praises and flogging their signature tune 'One in 10,000' on the J's. Without a record label or the accompanying marketing and promo push, the song slams into the Net 50, and remains there for three months, peaking in the Top 5.

In Triple J's Autumn magazine, they are featured as one of eight 'bands to watch', with their sound described as ?a subtle form of deceptively lush indie pop''.

Reviewing the demo CD, Beat Magazine says they have the potential to become "an indie phenomenon''.

Previewing their one-month residency at Chapel St's Duke of Windsor in May, the Sunday Herald Sun says they are "the next big thing''.

More than a dozen well-received live shows in Melbourne cement the band's reputation, while 500 fans post messages on their website asking where they can buy their music.

Triple J includes 'One in 10,000' on its Home and Hosed Volume 3 CD compilation of new Australian talent, due out on October 14.
