Boy Ler formed in 1998 in Utrecht, NL. After the "Screw" EP (2000), the band released their debute album "Friendly fire from the midnight flanger" on Zabel records (2003). This first full length features both the melancholy of Smog, Tindersticks vocals and Mogwai guitar eruptions. In the following years, several members were working in other projects and bands. Drummer Wouter Boschker was involved in EXCON and saxophone player Martijn Loos performed with the late In Julia's Mind-Scene.
When recordlabel Zabel decided to call it quits, Boy Ler transferred to Dying Giraffe records, where they released their second album "Lord Palf" in september 2007. Tindersticks remains a major influence, other inspiration seems to come out from very different corners of the musical spectrum: Nick Cave, Pink Floyd, Black Heart Procession and 'Miles' brings the gloomy dark romance of Type O Negative to mind. YouTube features a sinister video of this song.
