Boxelder takes Rock n Roll into overdrive and slams it head first into the island style vibes of rock steady reggae. This conscious blend of rock with tinges of reggae leaves most listeners licking their plate and asking for more. After four full length indie releases and six years of constant touring the band has built up a loyal following traveling the U.S. of A. Ten thousand indie records sold from the trunk of the car and many miles traveled to play with the likes of Long Beach Short Bus, Eka Mouse...
The surf industry has continued to channel Boxelder through out its culture. With numerous surf films containing Boxelder tunes in their soundtracks over the last five years to full blown East Coast tours sponsored by Surfer Magazine and Smith Optics the band continues to penetrate the surf/skate industry with impact. ESPN2 has even picked up on the band for its extremes sports programming.
Commercial and College radio has also nurtured the band. With support from Clear Channel in West Palm Beach , Jacksonville , Tallahassee and Orlando the band constantly earns air time and show slots for the majors. Specialty spins around the country on college radio continues to expand with their popularity.
The band will spend the summer recording a full length album with Grammy producer Eric Schilling. The full album is slated for a fall 2005 release.
A lot more could be said about these surfers from the Atlantic Florida coast but as the fans will tell you check out a live show and the rest will come. The deep water influence of the Boxelder sound will leave you irresistibly dreaming of a solo surf session in South Pacific Islands or trekking a high mountain divide.
