Excellent 1998 meeting between Japanese sludge metal legends Boris and Keiji Haino, 9 tracks accross 73 minutes. Boris take their name from a track by the Melvins who have been a great influence on the groups heavy, down tuned, slow-paced, doom metal sound. Not much needs to be said about the work of the highly prolific Keiji Haino and here is as good an example as any of his ability to improvise with others.
Haino brings a number of instruments into the melting pot including electric oboe, wave drum and electronic struthibox and he occassionally shares his ferral screams/wails with Boris vocalist Atsuo. From making proposals, selecting the music to mastering the two parties worked together, not as two separate entities but as one band.
