Blind Vandal was actually founded in 1988 by guitarist Aleksandr Firsov (known from bands Saint Louisa and Lady Macbeth). But the band is considered to have had a rebirth in 1996 when more professional and experienced players joined. Base player Vadim Tryaptsin joined the group after leaving Panzer Divizion. Drummer Aleksander Harev is famous in Arhangelsk rock scene, played in bands such as : Ravelin, Autodaphe, Novaya Zemlya,Okonchatelniy Diagnoz and so on.
Just to add more to their extensive carrier, Aleksander Firsov and Vadim Tryaptsin, have successfully graduated fm Arhangelsk Music College.
This Trio is now playing heavy rock, in the style of Joe Satriani.
Year 2000 was very rewarding for the musicians. Aleksander Firsov was nominated as best guitarist of Arhangelsk, plus he also received the title of Musician of the Year. Vadim Tryapitsin was named Best Bass-Guitarist and his buddy Aleksander Harev ? Best Drummer.
Their achievements did not come to end nor halted there for 2000. The group receives the vote of Best Band Of the Year from their faithful public and music specialists.
Their debut album ?Blind Vandal? becomes Best Album of the Year.
In spring 2001, the group gives a magnificent performance on Russian Rock Festival ?Art Platforma? in Magnitogorsk where another 100 groups took part. Not a single member of jury protested against givng Blind Vandal the Grand Prix.
In July 2001 the group takes part in 5th Regional Rock Festival in Segezha (Kareliya) with great success, and in august they perform in a concert dedicated to the City Anniversary of Novodvinsk.
In March 2002, Blind Vandal makes an appearance in town Koryazhma on festival ?Archive no 1? and in may on festival ?Chistiy Drive? in Vologda.
Throughout 2003 the group gives a lot of concerts in Arhangelsk and Severodvinsk.
Among which they also perform in Moscow in R-CLUB. In July the group travels to Norway and makes performance in Chellfjord on ?Chris-Festival?.
