The band then moved abroad and played many venues in Oklahoma City OK, Stillwater OK, Dallas TX, Joplin MO, Lawrenceville KS, and the list goes on and on. Managed by Crystal Thirion in the early years, the band was on its way to stardom. Black Wednesday recorded their debut 12 tracks at Drapp Studio in Tulsa, and distributed them over 5 states in 1996. In 1997, a digital recording was made by Russel Law and Terry White, and cassete copies of it were dispersed among fans. In 1996 the band joined NACA. Late 1996-1997 brought negotiations with TVT and Interscope Records, however, due to musical and personal differences, the band split up in February 1997.
In June of 2003, Erv Felker and Shawn Wiles went into Valcour Studio in Tulsa to record a two track demo. The results were amazing. Throughout the year of 03-04 the tracks were placed on MP3.com, Garageband.com, and Soundclick.com to see how it would rate among other artists. With each rating, the music fared at a minimum in the top 5-10 percentile of music rated on the site. Not too bad, so in June of 2004, Erv, Shawn, Scott Cooper on guitar, and Billy Berkenbile on drums, hit Valcour again and recorded an additional 6 tracks. These also turned awesome. In December 2005, a final set of 6 tracks were recorded, this time with Greg Klaus on lead guitar. The compilation was placed on the internet under the name Erv Felker and appear on www.soundclick.com/ervfelker. In June 2006, Black Wednesday reunited for the first time in 10 years and recorded five tracks. The change was the addition of Robby Merrick to replace Nick Murray on drums. The results were well anticipated and on the mark.
A Studio session in Dec. produced 4 tracks, with an additional 2 acoustic tracks added during the final mix in April 2007. The band hit the stage for the first show in 10 years supporting Pit Bulls on Crack in Dec. and again in April for the Ballroom Blitz in Tulsa OK.
