Bird Show of North America

Bird Show of North America is an instrumental rock trio consisting of guitar, drums, and paint. All their songs are named after birds. On recordings the guitarist, Ian Peters, layers bass, keyboard, and 2nd and 3rd guitar parts to fill out their sound. Their live show is purposely scaled down with the emphasis on tight interplay between the drummer, CJ Miller, and Ian. Ian gives a brief description or story before some of their songs to help the audience understand a little bit about each bird.

Curtis Poortinga, the painter, performs on stage by creating a bird painting for each song. In effect Curtis acts as the singer, the focal point of the band for their live show. After the show the audience can buy the paintings for $20-$40.
