Ballz Deluxe is a band out of Clarkston MI. Their sound is a combination of strong vocal hooks, and heavy groove oriented riffs. Their band members all have very different musical influences, yet somehow pull it all together. The more obvious influences after hearing them are: Metallica, GNR, Alice In Chains, KISS, Pantera, Clutch, AC/DC, Deftones, Megadeth, Cheap Trick, Ted Nugent, Three Days Grace, and Breaking Benjamin.
All five members of the band are accomplished songwriters in their past and side projects, but Scott Christy, the rhythm guitarist, acts as their producer within the band. His state of the art home recording studio is where the band began. In 2007 they began the writing process and early demos. They released their first full length album in June of 2008 and local Detroit radio took to it well. The band has built up a good following in Metro Detroit as well as Flint MI over the past 2 years. They've opened for bands like Saliva, Tantric, W.A.S.P., Sponge, Hurt, Flaw, Pop Evil, Rev Theory, and Ashes Of Soma. As for their future, the new album, tentitively called "Rock Is Dead," is scheduled for a 2010 release date. From what has been heard so far, this CD is easily going to be a huge step up from the first. The band has stepped up the tempo on a few tracks, they now have very technical grooves as well as the signature old ones, and the content is much more personal and dark. Get ready for "Rock Is Dead!"
