Azure Noir, was formed in 2007 by emcee/producer King and Morguen Merlot, the former lead singer of In Winter (Cleveland). In Winter opened for bands such as The Birthday Massacre, The Genitorturers,Wednesday 13, Lennon and many more; making them a favorite within Cleveland's underground gothic, rock and industrial scene. Azure Noir is Trip-Hop, Ambient, and Downtempo with mixed influences ranging from Portishead, IAMX and Massive Attack to J Dilla, Velure, Zero 7, Morcheeba, and Al Green.

Azure Noir released 'Antecedence', their first EP, during the summer of 2008. On December 2nd, 2008 the duo released their debut album, 'Addicted To Blue'. The thirteen track album featuring King's musical composition and Merlot's vocal talent reveals its listeners to a dream like world of "liquid audio that flows through your headset like syrup."
On August 24th, 2010 they released a single entitled 'The Violet Lament'. Some samples have been released on reverbnation.com revealing a a taste of what the group is working on towards their next album.
