A contemporary of Janis Joplin, Genya Ravan & her band Ten Wheel Drive often appeared on the same bill as Janis. Genya embarked upon a solo recording career in 1972 & released five albums between 1972 & 1979: "Genya Ravan" (1972), "They Love Me, They Love Me Not" (1973), "Goldie Zelkowitz" (1974), "Urban Desire" (1978) & "...And I Mean It!"
