Woodpecker is made by stirring together 3 parts madness, 1 part Ryan Fagan on guitar anad vocals, 1 part Valerie Clark on guitar and vocals, 1 cup of Nathan Fagan on drums, 4 squirrels, 1 woodpecker, a lollipop, a keyboard, and a metric ton of Truman Burchfield on bass. The band was originally called "Psycho Billy Cadillac" and consisted of Ryan Fagan and Truman Burchfield playing together in a storage shed the size of a closet in the magical land of Spring, Texas.
The band was originally called "Psycho Billy Cadillac" and consisted of Ryan Fagan and Truman Burchfield playing together in a storage shed the size of a closet in the magical land of Spring, Texas. Ryan's brother Nathan joined them in the closet and with Ryan's snappy tunes to spur them on began pounding out hot and heavy noise. Sometime or other later, Nathan and Ryan's cousin, Valerie Clark from Dallas, Texas, was inducted against her will and made to write more songs for the band and clean their socks. Thus the unholy madness that is Woodpecker began.
The four band members are longtime friends and have played together in various other incarnations and bands over the years but never all four together until 2008 when the Devil appeared to them laden with candy and kazoos and persuaded them that there was really nothing else to be done. They must and would become a band!
There was a brief hiatus between 2008 and 2010 when the band spent time working on formative and collaborative writing and recording, and a bloody and bitter war was fought in which Valerie died. But Woodpecker is now ready to melt your faces off with live shows and punkablillycountrysauce.
"On the Verge of Making Pancakes" is they're debut album. It's the only recordings by this particular Woodpecker. All the other albums are by different Woodpeckers.
