The band's style is quite unique, falling into the progressive rock sound while also incorporating elements of industrial and technical metal. Lead singer Pete Kelly brings a fiercely urgent style while lead guitarist Alex Goldenthal rips through the songs with an ear on the past and an eye on the future. The powerful rhythm section includes drummer George Roskos and bassist Joey Schweighardt, while guitarist Kurt Andrews combines guitar, effects and harmony vocals to round out the West Gate sound.
West Gate released one 3-song demo in late 2007, and the EP 'Selah' in 2008. Their debut album, 'Daylight,' was released on July 14, 2009. They performed a three-week tour in August 2009, covering the East Coast and part of the Midwest. Currently, West Gate is putting together an EP of re-recorded material and planning a new tour for spring and summer, while playing shows in and around New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
