Viola Rose's music is a dynamic expression of mystical depths, haunting melodies, enchanting vocals, heartfelt lyrics, exotic instruments and soulful inspiration. Viola's exploration of life has taken her down many different paths. The endless scenery and profound experiences have inspired the diverse flavors and moods of her music. She has been a roaming musical gypsy, sung prayers in temples in India and shamanic ceremonies, and has appeared as a guest singer with many touring bands on the west coast.

Here is another artist who deserves to be more well known! Veils of Twilight varies through genres very fluidly from ethereal, to pop, to world, to gothic, and it's all topped by Viola's strong, passionate and earthy vocals. She's a performance artist too, and you can find out more about her, as well as listen to tracks from Veils of Twilight at her myspace page
review by Scott Blair:
After ten years of being dead, I awakened from love lost in the second half of the nineties. There was some kind of "gypsy tribe" movement that had started up on the West coast . I heard about this woman who was singing in the various venues and fire circles. That woman is Viola Rose. Think of any of your most precious and creative Bodhisattvas with CD's, and I think you'll find that, like the best of them, Viola Rose holds out to her loving fans, a beautiful way of being. Her music reveals an evolution of the heart, that deftly braids cool shadows with the sweetest light. Listening to Veils of Twilight, I find myself believing again, in that shimmering and sacred place, that I so need to find, in this life. I want to hear this music forever, lying by the firelight, between the moon cycles, Viola singing me though the mist and the night, until, like an impossible dream, the magical blush of first light is suddenly in the East. "Light My Way" is a hit single, flat out. It should be on the radio, if radio had any desire. " A Million Suns" features one of my favorite guitarists, Scott Huckabay, whose relentless and seductive sonics , paired with Viola's vocal improv, get hold of me and won't let go. If this stuff went mainstream, the world would change for the better, and it wouldn't take long. Simply put: One of the best CDs from an emerging artist that I have heard. It's like walking down a beach of gray pebbles, and finding a gem. If you care anything at all about supporting conscious music, don't hesitate to click the "add" button. You can't go wrong .
