Vic and Eva Zarley met on an online Christian singles site after each had lost their spouses. Each separately heard a call from God to marry, although they hadn't met in person. When they did unite, they discovered they were able to write songs together in a way that seemed supernaturally easy. Vic grew up in southern California and had musical experience that dates back to the middle 60's. He performed his own songs at the Paradox Cafe, where many artists from that era had their starting venue.
Vic grew up in southern California and had musical experience that dates back to the middle 60's. He performed his own songs at the Paradox Cafe, where many artists from that era had their starting venue. His favorite artists of those years were Peter, Paul & Mary, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel and The Kingston Trio.
Eva, although ten years younger, was also heavily influenced in her early years by the same popular folk groups, due to older siblings. Later in life, she became a Christian and was heavily influenced by the music and radical faith of Keith Green. However, she did not delve into songwriting herself until she was nearly forty, when she was going through the illness and eventual suicide of her first husband.
Since their marriage in 2002, Vic and Eva have recorded enough songs for three Christian albums in their home studio: "Old Folks with a New Song," "Jesus Folk," and "Holy Folk".
