Vanity Ink from Helsinki Finland was formed at the end of 2002. The band rises from the ashes of the street rock groups such as Capital Crime, Silver City Bandits, Crystal Extasy, Weirdorama and BlueInTheFace. The original line-up was Juha Bandit (guitar), Make (guitar), Miki Peltola (bass), Sam Junni (drums) and Annabella (vocals). Quite soon Annabella had to leave the group for a while and was replaced by Stiina with whom the band released their debut EP "...roadkills!" in October 2004.
Quite soon Annabella had to leave the group for a while and was replaced by Stiina with whom the band released their debut EP "...roadkills!" in October 2004. The next year brought Annabella back in the Vanityland and she was warmly welcomed by the rest of the guys. The original singer brought along more energy and fun, attitude and charisma, sex and alcohol - everything it takes to be a great rock'n'roll band! Middle finger up and a big smile! The first half of the year 2005 Vanity Ink spent working on new songs and playing gigs around Finland. The second EP "Vanity is a full-time job" was released in September and got raving reviews in fanzines all over the world.
In January 2006 guitarist Make decided to concentrate on healthier things in life and left the group. Vanity Ink continued as a four-piece but they brought along an old friend JP Kola to play the rhythm guitar on tour. 2006 was similar to the previous year, i.e. the band rocked the stages in Finland and worked on new songs.
In August 2006 Vanity Ink started recording their debut full-length album. During the autumn the band recorded 13 tracks of which 11 were mixed and mastered and ended up on the album ?On Your Skin?. The first long-player by Vanity Ink saw the light of day in January 2007.
Vanity Ink released a new promo single Smell the Party on January 30th 2009. The track is taken from their forthcoming second album ?More Senseless Random Behaviour? which was released on March 25th 2009.
