Their unique sound and has caught the ear of music lovers and their live performances have impressed audiences all over Ireland. They have just finished recording their debut album "enlokari" which is due for release Feb '07. The album has 11 tracks, and was recorded in Rush, Co.Dublin. It was produced by Wayne Sheehy and engineered by Andy Knightly.
The band got together to jam in September 2004 with nothing more than the intention to play some reggae and have fun. it wasn't long, however, before they realised that their wide ranging influences
pushed them beyond the bounds of conventional reggae. They soon began writing original material that seemed to mould all these influences into something "the tribe" like to describe as "new wave". The first of their songs was "Head Police", and in this song, in its sound, the band found the direction in which they all feltcomfortable to go.
Over the next year the band began playing live shows under the name "Rastafenians". With each show more and more original material was introduced until their set comprised of only original songs. The decision was then made to change the name of the band from "Rastafenians" to "unite tribe".
Next, they set upon the task of recording their debut album "enlokari". To do this the band called on the services of up and coming Irish engineer Andy Knightly, with whom some of the band had previous experience working. Through Andy, the band were introduced to renowned Irish drummer and producer Wayne Sheehee, who having heard some early demos, soon came on board.
The album was completed in May 2006. By this stage the band had begun to build up a loyal following in various corners of the country, having earned the reputation as an impressive live act in
venues such as The Spirit Store (Dundalk), Whelan's (Dublin) and The Trinity Rooms (Limerick).
Their most rececnt gigs include playing support to legendary jamaican duo "Isreal Vibration" in Dublins Crawdaddy and "The Black Seeds" in the Temple Bar Music Centre. They also Performed at the festival of world culture's in Dun Laoghaire and live on O'Connell St. at an anti-war war march on Sept 23rd 06'.
