Umber Sleeping

Umber Sleeping started as a recording project between Peter Tietjen and Chris Jones in 2001. Finally by early 2003 they began playing live around Tacoma and Seattle as a two piece with Chris playing key bass with his left hand and peter singing from the drums. The sound of Umber Sleeping is a hybrid of New Wave, 70's Fusion, 60's and 70's Sci-Fi soundtracks, psychedelic and progressive rock. thier music is surreal at times, energetic, and always melodic. Friend Izzy Hickey has been playing moog bass since last year on recent tours and local shows.

Umber Sleeping has one full length disc avaliable (self titled), which came out on the Space Rocker Records label in july of 2006.reverie for a star cloud is peter's side project and will have an ep coming out on space rocker sometime in august. chris jones' side project is called northserch which hopefully will be releasing something soon. Izzy plays drums in a band called apollo.
