TRIGGER[10d] was formed in 1998 by George Fulton, Alicia Sotelo and Sam Marotta. The founding members found inspiration from a variety of musical genres and artists, but combined styles to create a unique sound best compared to Long Island Iced Tea, an intoxicating combination of spirits... trip hop, electronic, industrial, techno, darkwave, pop... a sweet and sour mix. The band joined with Chicago's WTII records in 2001 and began work on their acclaimed debut album The Difference is a Boy. The album was released in February 2003.

The album features the track "Most People Don't Forget", which was featured in Covert Creative Groups independent film "Shut-EYE". CCG also filmed a music video for the song.

Ben Marotta, who had contributed guitar parts on the tracks Elaine and Parade on the debut record, joined the band as live guitarist and became a full time member contributing guitar and synth parts to the bands 2004 remix EP, ...But the Girl's the Same. While Sam and George had the opportunity to remix other artists, including Hungry Lucy and Amish Rake Fight, they decided to experiment with minimalist techno variations of their own tracks, which lead to the release of the BTGTS EP, which in addition to their own mixes includes mixes by Chris Randall of Sister Machine Gun, War-N of Hungry Lucy, Monstrum Sepsis, Charles Sadler and Jonathan Ford (Little Tin Box/in.Flect/Aurascape/Stellar Vector) and Terminal Bliss. The EP also featured the new minimalistic techno/glitch track Play Nice.

The band continued as a four piece, relying heavily on electronic backing. From 2003 to early 2006 the band performed a number of local and regional performances with a variety of other acts including Hungry Lucy, Terminal Bliss, the Atomica Project, Little Tin Box, Decadent, HMB, Mercurine, Rachael's Surrender and many others. Playing as a four piece with primarily electronic acts was interesting, but the members yearned to evolve their sound and performances into something more intense, more real, more live. The time had couple to shed the loops and programmed drums and samples and with that John Francimore entered as live and studio drummer.

While still a four piece the band had begun writing new music, but now as a five piece writing was put on hold to adapt performances to incorporate the new and improved live sound. After several successful performances the newly redefined band returned to writing their sophomore release. The addition of live percussion was an invigorating creative force that redefined the band's sound as a cohesive group. The second album was written and recorded between 2004 and 2008. The self titled disc will feature 10 new songs including the alternative rock tracks Misplaced and A-List, the dark dance oriented Puddle Hopping and the ethereal Skies Gone Dark. A video for Misplaced was filmed in March 2009 and it will be promoted when the album is ready for release in mid 2009.
