In April-May of 2006, Top of the Orange, along with the creative genus of Matt Roberts (3 Doors Down), joined forces to track what would become the debut full length album from Top of the Orange... "Wait & See". The album had been anticipated for an entire year by the bands over zealous fan base, and became a definite success for the band selling all 1,000 copies in less than 2 weeks. The recording process was not that of a typical one.
The band actually hired Joseph Buck Masters, a local recording engineer, to bring his mobile recording rig to the bands practice space (affectionately known as "The Grove") to do the tracking. After constructing a makeshift drum room out of thermo-ply and zip-ties, removing ceiling tiles for ambiance, and stockpiling junk food for the hours that lay ahead; the band commenced a two month long session that consisted of several 12 to 16 hour days of grueling recording, stopping only to break for Roberts tour schedule, resulting in what is sure to be a piece of history. When it came to the project as a whole Roberts had this to say: "The project for me was an intense creative process, sonically and musically. This was my first full length studio project outside of 3 doors and was really refreshing to take on the roll as producer verses musician. I still love my job as a member of 3 doors and my passion will always lie there, but at the same time harvesting the talent from the guys in Top of the Orange was a unique experience and something I am very proud of. The guys in the band really put there heart and soul into the project and I had a great time watching them put their efforts where their true passion is, their music. All that being said I think the fans the band has, and the world for that fact, will be in for a pleasant surprise upon the release of the bands first full length record and again I am very proud to be affiliated", said prior to release date. The CD Release party was held at Mobile's hottest music store, "Guitar Center", March 10th of this year 2007 and was a great success selling out of Cd's and merchandise. "It's exactly what we planned to happen", says the band. "We have all of our fans to thank for it". "Without them we wouldn't have made it this far".
