Tony has been making big waves in music. Compared to everyone from Daft Punk to Snoop Dog, Tony has been using his "undoubted production talent" (DJ magazine) to make his own blend of "astonishingly forward-thinking" music. Originating from Sweden, Tony spent six years in Leeds learning everything he could from the flourishing house scene, eventually starting up his own mini-empire of labels (Anonym, Gung-eli-gung, Horehaus & Virago) to release his own tracks as well as hunting for fresh talent.
Quickly earning a reputation, Tony was soon taking his DJ sets around Europe, Japan and the Americas.
His already overflowing discography has already earned him Album Of The Issue in DJ magazine (Wackdaddies Return Of The Wack Planet), 4/5s and 5/5s in Jockey Slut and Mixmag (La Cienda Honduras "Nar Ingen Vill?", "Wackdaddies Fear Of A Wack Planet"), Vital Single Of The Month in Muzik (Tony Senghore & Paul Woolford Loverboy EP) 5/5s in Update (La Cienda Hondusras Chok-Chok Tequila Combo, Tony Senghore Underhallning EP, Tony Senghore Disco Slampa) , Single Of The Week in Update (Ladytron Evil Tony Senghore remix) as well as a throng of high-profile DJ and producer fans including Deep Dish, Lottie, Roger Sanchez, Romanthony, Darren Emerson, Yousef, DJ Sneak, Junior Sanchez, Pete Tong, Seb Fontaine and the MYNC Project.
The floor-shaking, bass-driven, dirty house dub Whaddup was quickly snapped up by Darren Emerson's label Underwater, and was made "Essential New Tune" on BBC Radio 1's Essential Selection, in a show that featured no less than four of Tony's tracks. Mixmag has described his signature record "The System" as "a leftfield anthem", and his new offering on Eye Industries ("Peace") has been critically acclaimed by everyone lucky enough to receive a copy!
Senghore is also an incredible remixer. His awesome re-working of the Audio Bullys single Turned Away was the hottest promo on the block, having the rare accolade of reaching number one in both the Cool Cuts Chart and the Buzz Chart. He also has also remixed Ladytron, Chamonix, the Buffalo Bunch and Lady Sovereign among many others to devastating effect.
Currently shacked up in his Swedish studio, Tony has recorded an artist album that will be released by Eye Industries later in the year. Fusing a massive range of influences to come up with a sound that is modern and fresh, it has already impressed many in the music industry, and is set to surprise a few people when it comes out.
With people recognising him as one of the "most prolific but underrated house producers" (Mixmag), his unique and "superbly crafted music" makes Tony Senghore one to watch out for. Make sure to check his re-launched label "Horehaus" and it's sister label "Virago" for the latest outings from the man. Available on beatport now!
