Growing up in Japan, TOMOKO was swept away by American pop and soul music. Stevie Wonder's masterpiece, 'Songs in the Key of Life,' changed her life forever at the age of nine. Everyone, including her own family, laughed at her when she expressed her desire to become a soul singer. Undeterred by the conventions of society, she packed her things one day and moved to New York City. The rest, as they say, is history.

TOMOKO has packed NY's premier Blue Note as her first appearance on Sunday Vocal Brunch series, sang in a Gospel Choir for Josh Groban for last year's NBC X'mas Concert Tree Lighting Live @ Rockafella Center, featured at New York Yankees Minor League game singing the National Anthem, and has performed in many other major venues in NYC.

Her upcoming 2011 video release ?Promise,? will provide inspirational focus on the current tragedies unfolding in her homeland, Japan as the tribute song to Japan, and the sales proceeds will be donated to Red Cross and Japan Society.

'Organically Afro Asatic' is her very first major release in the U.S. from BLUESBACK RECORDS owned by the noted-as-the best trombone player in the world- Wycliffe Gordon.
