As written in January 2007's Rick's Cafe: "...The surprise of the night was Apparently Nothing, who blew everybody away, including the myriad of attending musicians. All these guys need is the right manager and they're gone. The band are not all drinking-age yet but they have been writing, performing and recording for some six years or so and are going to release their fourth recording soon. Without touching a single fader on the board, the mix was suddenly just right. Their set was extremely tight and exciting and the pacing was brilliant.
Drummer Layne Knutson is a monster and guitarist Jim Lincoln's leads were extraordinary. Aaron Shekey is an energetic front man who knows how to work his crowd. And it is his crowd because he makes it so. They know how to rock and how to command a stage, but what is really striking is the quality of their original material. They also performed a surprisingly kick-ass version of "Santa Baby," a curious choice indeed. Apparently Nothing is just scary good, and may be the best rock ensemble in the city right now."
Apparently Nothing is a rock band, pure bread from the upper midwest. Through organic growth and hard work, they've been recieved on many stages to many excited new fans, while also opening for acts such as The Burden Brothers, The Living Things, The Vacation, and The Matches to name a few.
