There are at least three bands called The Third Estate. 1) An obscure small-town psych folk band from Baton Rouge, LA. They released a now impossible to find album in 1976, called Years Before the Wine. It's an intricate, interesting concept album about the French revolution. 2) A five-piece alternative rock group hailing from Albury, Australia. Since the band's formation in 2003, they have played many tour supports for bands such as Mammal, Faker, Kisschasy, The Galvatrons, Trial Kennedy, Horsell Common and Grinspoon.

The band is recording a concept album, "The Chronicles of the Four Horsemen", which will be released in four seperate parts: "Conquest", "War", "Pestilence & Famine", and "Death". In 2009, on July 4th, the band released the first part of the album, "Conquest", featuring three tracks: "Far From the Valiant Tourist" (with a music video), "Dirty Wings", and the short acoustic "Faith & Blood". The band will tour to promote the record after it's release.
3) The Hip Hop duo Third Estate is: Horns and The Badge. Two original minds walk the road less traveled... Their latest effort ("EP") illustrates their innovation and versatility. Coupled with thought provoking lyrics and "off the wall" composition, The Third Estate have created an undeniable sound and established themselves as a force to be reckoned with amongst recording artists. Look out for these guys to supply Phoenix with the signature sound it has struggled to find.
