The Swains

The Swains was founded in 2004 in Groningen, Netherlands. Their music is an exciting mixture of Garagerock, Blues, and Soul. On stage, singer Jouke slowly gets possessed by the groove of this trash-machine which' sound consists mainly of the filthy and full riffs of guitarist Maike and the animal-like drum-style of Peter. This makes a bassplayer unnecessary. Frontman Jouke switches between singing, playing harmonica, organ and guitar.

Once at steam he preaches the Blues and the Gospel as if Groningen was the capitol of Mississippi. Influences are The Stooges, Speedball Baby but also James Brown. They sound like Booker T. & the MG's on speed...
