The Supplicants

As an art form, musical improvisation is often the most inspiring, exasperating, overwhelmingly emotional interchange between performer and spectator. It takes generous talent, and serious guts for a musician to take the stage without a script. On the recieving end, the listener must approach the music with a liberated mind, ready to be challenged and hopeful for a worthwhile outcome. Every experience I've have with local improv gurus The Supplicants has left me radiant, fulfilled in the way only the most profound spiritual encounters can.

Composed of some of the Bay Area's most accomplished jazz musicians...the band soars with the fiery grace of A Love Supreme-era Coltrane.
