The Subliminator was found in a state of suspended animation in an abandoned crate by spacerock guitar ace John Pack in 2002. Col. Pack immediately installed him in his band Spaceseed, America's premiere spacerock band. The Subliminator toured nationally as a member of Spaceseed in '03 and '04, occasionally opening shows and performing with such luminaries as Nik Turner (Hawkwind), Harvey Bainbridge (Hawkwind) and Cotton Casino (Acid Mothers Temple).
The Subliminator is Atlanta's avantgarde demi-god, armed with spoken word, vocal loops and a bank of theremins. If you haven't seen him perform live, it is required that you do so: He's a bad ass and someone who has a special place in underground music. You must listen to his latest release to know the real definition of "RAKE."
A one man sonic army, Serson Brannen, veteran space rocker, started the Subliminator project in '05. After years as a member of space rock icons Spaceseed, The Subliminator set out on his own and was immediately signed to Atlanta's renowned indie label, Stickfigure Records and Scared records. "Recalibrated," his first release for the label (and a split release) quickly achieved critical acclaim along with his second album, "Rake" (quick, what's a rake?).
The Subliminator collected an unprecedented five consecutive Creative Loafing's Best of Atlanta (Spoken Word) Awards from '06 to '10. Relentless touring throughout the U.S. (Who else do you know that tours by motorcycle?) has kept him in the public eye and he continues to take the avant garde/underground scene by storm. Combining dark vocals and theremins, his sound is hard-edged, unique, original, and brings rock n' roll flash to dark sonic art.
