Two Bands With This Name: THE SNIPS from Latvia and The Snips from Canada. THE SNIPS from Latvia exist from 2006 and The Snips from Canada changed their name from The Ceremonial Snips to The Snips in 2010. So starting from 2010 there are 2 bands with the name The Snips. 1) THE SNIPS (Riga, Latvia) ?THE SNIPS? are a punk-electronic duo from Riga, Latvia, consisting of drummer Shurik Solovyov and guitarist and vocalist Dmitri Borisenkov. The band emerged in 2006 and have released 1 EP the same year and official LP ?Viva La Rock'n'Roll? in 2011.

Until the year 2011 The Snips played as trio even, as quartet inviting session musicians, but after releasing the debut LP band decided to take new direction - to the dance music, as being influenced by 90's rave scene, drum and bass, and became a duo.
Starting from 2006 the band played over 100 gigs including London, Copenhagen, Vilnius, playing on major festivals and sharing the stage with ?Bloodhound Gang?, ?Ten Years After?, ?Sham 69? and others.
Debut ?THE SNIPS? video ? ?Fuck Art Let's Dance? went straight to the top on Latvian Musical Channel (LMK) and was number 1 for the whole month.
Nowadays, THE SNIPS recording new EP which will be mix of garage, dubstep, house and drum'n'bass music, also performing it live now.

2) The Snips (Welland, Ontario, Canada)
Ceremonial Snips are a punk/metal band with a brass section, formed in 1999 in Welland, Ontario, Canada. They have just recently changed their name to The Snips.
