The Simpletons were the quintessential Aussie rock band. They formed in Lismore in 1992, gained a cult following around the country, and played a major role in establishing indie label, Candle Records. Their sad demise was a metaphor for the Aussie live music scene in the mid-late 90s. One phoenix did rise from the ashes - as Darren Hanlon went solo...
