The Sewing Circle Sues formed in 2003 as part of a 'farewell' show at CBGB's for Jay Pounders, who was moving from New York City to Los Angeles. Jay's former band, Crossfire Choir (formally on Geffen Records), had been the house band at CBGB's for years and was managed by Hilly Kristal, the owner of the club. It was appropriate that former members of Crossfire Choir,Brad Peet and Ron DeSaram ,joined in the final CBGB's show, along with long time friends, Andy McManus and Bill & John Storch (all from Florida).
The show was a success and The Sewing Circle Sues decided at that point to continue working with one another in whatever capacity possible, since members were scattered from California to New Hampshire to Florida. That summer recording began at Elegbaland Studios in Lake Worth, FL and an additional show at Respectable Streets in West Palm Beach followed. Long distance recordings continued and the first Sewing Circle Sues CD was released in the summer of 2005. Radio airplay, press and bites from record labels have followed. The Sewing Circle Sues hope to arrange for more live shows and newly recorded material in 2006.
